announcing the swingset skirt sew-along and linky party

We’re thrilled to share some exciting news with all of you! Next month, we’ll be hosting a Swingset Skirt sew-along, and we’d love for you to join us. This is going to be so much fun, and we’re sure you’ll enjoy being part of this creative journey. For those who may not be familiar, the Swingset Skirt recently got an update with expanded sizing options—yes, that includes size 14! Liesl has already created a fantastic collection of Swingset Skirt inspirations, and she even put together a dedicated Pinterest board filled with ideas. If you’re looking for more inspiration, Melani’s favorite patterns post is another great resource to check out. ![Oliver + S Swingset Skirt](#) If you’ve ever wanted to create a twirly skirt for a little girl or one with that adorable drawstring detail, this is the perfect project for you. The Swingset Skirt is rated at a one-of-four-scissors difficulty level, making it accessible for beginners and experienced sewers alike. Join us as we sew alongside our friends and connect with others who share our passion for crafting. This time around, we’ve got something extra special planned. We’ve assembled a talented panel of six women who will guide us through the process. Let’s meet them! **Introducing the Swingset Skirt Sew-Along Panel** - **Brienne** from Handmade By Brienne - **Katy** from no big dill - **Meredith** from Olivia Jane Handcrafted - **Rachel** from Stitched Together - **Sally** from Sew Cool for the Tween Scene - **Tara** from Girl Like the Sea To kick things off, during the first week of November, we’ll feature each panelist on the blog. They’ll share their design choices, fabric selections, and tips to make your sewing experience memorable. **Here’s the Swingset Skirt Sew-Along Schedule:** - **Day 1 (Monday, November 9th):** Prepare the outer skirt and lining - **Day 2 (Wednesday, November 11th):** Assemble the skirt and lining, and thread the elastic through the waistband - **Day 3 (Friday, November 13th):** Create and attach the drawstring, hem the skirt, and complete the finishing touches Ready to participate? You know the routine! Grab your Swingset Skirt pattern if you haven’t already—it’s available as an Oliver + S Single Pattern in both paper and digital formats. Don’t forget to gather your fabric and supplies. We’ll see you in the Discussion Forums Sew Alongs group starting November 9th! Feel free to use this optional button to showcase your participation on your blog: ![Oliver + S Swingset Skirt Badge](#) ```html ``` And here’s your chance to win a fantastic prize! Enter to win a $100 gift certificate to the Oliver + S website. Once you’ve finished your Swingset Skirt, post it somewhere online and add a link using the button below. Any skirts completed since September 24th, 2015, are eligible to enter. If you sew multiple skirts (because who doesn’t want more twirly skirts?), feel free to submit each one separately. All entries must be received by Friday, November 20th, 11:59 PM ET. The panelists will vote for their favorites, and the winner will be announced on Monday, November 23rd. Good luck, and happy sewing! We can’t wait to see what you create. --- P.S. For those interested in linking up their projects, here’s the InLinkz link-up area where you can share your creations. An InLinkz Link-up We hope you’re as excited as we are to dive into this sew-along. Happy crafting, and remember to tag your posts with #SwingsetSkirtSewAlong for a chance to be featured!
