We’re thrilled to share some exciting news with all of you! Next month, we’ll be hosting a Swingset Skirt sew-along, and we couldn’t be more excited about it. This is going to be a fantastic opportunity to create something beautiful while connecting with fellow sewing enthusiasts. We hope you’ll join us for this wonderful experience!
If you’ve been following our updates, you’ll know that the Swingset Skirt pattern recently received a major update with expanded sizing options—yes, including size 14! To inspire your creativity, Liesl has curated a special Pinterest board filled with Swingset Skirt inspiration. Plus, Melani’s favorite pattern post offers additional ideas to help spark your imagination.
Looking for a way to make a twirly skirt for a little girl? Or perhaps you’d like to add that adorable drawstring detail? The Swingset Skirt has got you covered! With its beginner-friendly “one of four scissors†difficulty rating, this pattern is perfect for sewers of all skill levels. Whether you’re a seasoned pro or just starting out, this project is sure to bring joy.
This time around, we’re doing things a bit differently. We’ve assembled a talented panel of six ladies who will guide us through the sew-along. Let’s meet them!

To kick things off, starting November 9th, we’ll feature each panelist on the blog. They’ll share their design choices, fabric selections, and personal insights into the process.
**Swingset Skirt Sew-Along Schedule**
- **Day 1 (Monday, November 9th):** Prepare the outer skirt and lining
- **Day 2 (Wednesday, November 11th):** Assemble the skirt and lining, insert the elastic
- **Day 3 (Friday, November 13th):** Create and attach the drawstring, hem, and complete the skirt
**How to Participate**
You know how these sew-alongs work. Grab your Swingset Skirt pattern if you haven’t already—it’s available as an Oliver + S Single pattern in both paper and digital formats. Don’t forget to gather your fabric and supplies. We’ll see you in the Discussion Forums Sew Alongs group on November 9th!
