Pink Diamond "Little Prince" Auction Results

The world's third largest pink diamond "Little Prince" was auctioned on the 16th at Christie's New York. The "Little Prince" was sold at a price of $39.3 million.

This pink diamond, weighing 34.65 carats, was discovered 300 years ago in Golconda in southern India. This pink diamond was then the private property of the royal family of Hyderabad and was held for the first time in 1960 at Sotheby's in London. The famous jeweler Van Cleef & Arpels sold it for 46,000 pounds and gave it the name "Little Prince." Afterwards, the "Little Prince" was bought by a mysterious buyer at the Van Cleef & Arpels Paris shop, but it never appeared again.

The auction price of the “Little Prince” diamond failed to break the record of 44 million US dollars created by the “Graff” pink diamond in 2010. The world’s most expensive pink diamond is still set by the 24.78 carat “Graf”.
