Three types of fabrics will have specific coding standards

Three types of fabrics will have specific coding standards It is understood that in the developed countries, textiles are strictly marked in terms of raw materials, fabric structure, and composition, while China is lagging behind in the standardization of textile fabrics. With the development of textile technology, new textile materials, new processes, and new products emerged in an endless stream. With the variety of varieties and specifications, the lack of relevant standards has led to chaos in the production and sales of fabrics. In addition, due to the fact that some companies have developed their own product codes, the textile industry has seen different names and different codes for similar objects. The inconsistent coding has severely hindered the exchange of information, and it is not conducive to the development of industry informatization and e-commerce of textile fabrics.

China's textile fabrics are generally divided into five categories: cotton, wool, silk, hemp, and chemical fiber, of which cotton, wool, and hemp account for about 60%. In order to formulate a public base benchmark for these three major categories of textile fabrics, the China Textile Information Center took the lead, and the three-category cotton, linen and wool textile material coding standard construction project was formally established two years ago. After many investigations and analysis in the industry, discussion and discussion, and continuous improvement and adjustment, the draft has been changed for several times. At the two-day seminar, relevant experts and professors from the China Textile Information Center, the China Article Numbering Center, and Beijing United University, as well as representatives of some textile companies, finally discussed the “draft for review”.

It is understood that the coding of cotton, linen, and wool fabrics complies with the principles of science, versatility, practicality, and expandability. By then, all digital codes will be used, covering the basic physical and chemical properties of the fabric. In other words, the coding of these three categories of textile fabrics will become the "identification card" of fabrics. In the future, people can learn about the main raw materials and yarn structure of fabrics through coding. Therefore, the development of coding will greatly facilitate the processing and information exchange of textile fabrics such as production, sales, logistics, and e-commerce.

Fu Guangwei, deputy director of the China Textile Information Center, said that Shaoxing county is one of the most important textile industry clusters in China. Therefore, the last seminar for the drafting of this code was deliberately held in Keqiao. He believes that the use of a uniform standard code in the textile fabric industry will greatly increase the development of industry informatization, and it will also help establish a traceability system for products. In the future, according to the fabric code can trace all aspects of the textile industry chain, will help the textile industry's standardized development, improve its social responsibility. Fu Guangwei revealed that, next, it will continue to take the lead in the research and formulation of silk and non-woven fabrics.
