Volcom sportswear slides on a new experience

In 1991, Richard Woolcott and Tucker Hall started a snowboard trip that will change their lives forever. Tucker quit his job, jumped into the car, and toured Nathan Fletcher and Gabriel. The next four days were very fresh and heavy snowfall. They were trapped and had to extend their stay. For a week or so, they would wake up every morning with two feet of new snow. This is where their first real experience in the snow slides new ideas to emerge.

Richard gave up his job two weeks later. During his trip with Tahoe, he and Tucker discussed the establishment of a clothing company, but it has never really been done. Until the end of the year in the spring, the two had the idea of ​​establishing a ski product company and based them on three sports venues nearby. The initial $5,000 funding came from Richard's dad and they started the process. The company’s first name was stone, and Volcom was born.
